This summer, we opened the doors to our very first Gigi & Olive pop-up - a beautiful, light-filled space that allowed us to bring our world of bridal, gifting, and personal touches to life in a whole new way. Among the most special elements of our month-long celebration was the presence of Catch Cameras, whose nostalgic and thoughtfully analogue approach to photography felt completely aligned with our ethos.
Throughout July, as guests explored our embroidered bows and monogrammed trinkets, they were also invited to put down their phones and pick up something different: a Catch Camera. These 35mm film cameras were available for anyone to use during our in-store moments - be it a Sip & Stitch evening or a weekend browsing session.
There’s something truly romantic about film photography - the way it encourages you to slow down, to look at a moment before clicking the shutter. It felt beautifully fitting for the world we’ve built at G&O, where detail, sentiment, and personal touch are everything. With the Catch Cameras, we weren’t just creating a space to shop - we were creating memories, captured in soft, candid tones that only film can deliver.
Some of our favourite snapshots from the month came from these unposed, joy-filled moments: customers tying bows in front of the mirror, embroidery threads being chosen, conversations between friends and bridesmaids.
We were so happy to work with Catch not only because of their unique product, but because they understood the kind of atmosphere we wanted to create. Their cameras helped us capture the heart of the pop-up and we loved seeing how much our community enjoyed the experience of being photographed on film.
