In an industry increasingly shaped by Pinterest boards, Instagram saves and an ever-growing appetite for flawless curation, Albion Parties founders Charlotte and Katie, masters of this, remind us that the most memorable weddings are also the ones that feel alive: joyful, personal, unexpected and entirely true to the couple at the centre of them.
"Albion began, as the best things do, with a very clear sense of what was missing," says Charlotte, who founded the company with Katie after years in luxury events. "We wanted to create something that held beauty and organisation in equal measure, not one at the expense of the other." For Katie, the starting point was more personal. "We were inspired by the parties our parents threw growing up, and we genuinely believed parties should be more fun, not just more beautiful," she says. "There was so much reverence in the industry, so much solemnity around the idea of a wedding, and we wanted to bring joy back into it." That instinct, she adds, has not changed at all.
That same instinct runs through everything else Charlotte and Katie told us, about the modern Bride, discretion, and what actually makes guests remember a wedding long after the last dance.
