Talking to the Bride
So much Wedding content is about the Wedding day itself. I want to talk to the people planning it.
The overwhelm, which very few people say out loud. The practical things too, like how a destination Wedding really works, what is worth spending on and what you can happily let go of. The questions Brides ask privately all the time and rarely ask in public.
I want to talk to Wedding experts and planners, the best people in this business, the ones who have been at hundreds of Weddings and know which decisions genuinely matter on the day. Building our Wedding Directory this year has been one of my favourite parts of running G&O because it has put me in a room with those people constantly, they are professionals and truely incredible at what they do.
I also want to talk to real Brides. Women who are 6, 12, 18 months out or out the other side and will tell you honestly what they would do again and what they would skip. That includes the Brides who have built a following on TikTok, who have been sharing all of this in public and have far more to say.
Brides trust their peers now more than they trust anything polished, and that is exactly what I want this to sound like. Please let me know who you would like to hear from too!
Building it has been the challenging part
I have been documenting the whole build and I want to be honest about it. It has been hard.
Podcasting has historically been an audio platform and it is not only that any more. Discoverability sits on social, so the show has to work as something you watch as well as something you listen to. Making it look different from everything else out there has taken far more time and far more decisions than I expected.
That is why I have gone down the more expensive route and built our own set, with the best equipment I could get, a producer and a videographer. It costs a lot more. It also means the whole thing can be beautiful, helpful, educational and insightful, which is what I want from it. Everything we do at G&O is beautiful and this had to be too.
I am really building a new brand within our brand world, and that effort does not stop at launch. A podcast is a week on week commitment and I intend to keep turning up for it.
