I am Georgie, the founder of Gigi & Olive, a Bridal and gifting business based in London, although we ship worldwide.

I started the brand in 2019 because I could not find beautiful Hen party pieces anywhere, and it has grown into so much more than that. We now cover Hen, Bridesmaid gifts, the Wedding and the honeymoon, and all of our personalisation is done in our London studio. We do pop ups and community events, and we work with incredible Wedding suppliers and venues to help their couples bring their vision to life. This year we launched our Wedding Directory, so Brides and couples can find the partners they actually want to work with.

And this September we are launching a Bridal podcast!

Why I Am Launching a Bridal Podcast

I learn by listening (and then doing)

I adore podcasts. Whenever I want to understand something properly, whether it is a brand, a founder or a CEO, I do a deep dive and listen to everything I can find. I love hearing the bigger story from someone who has genuinely lived it.

I felt that gap most when I was planning my own Wedding. There were not many places to go and the topics I actually wanted to hear about were not being covered. The questions I had were the ones only a Bride who has already done it can answer. I worked most of it out from friends, from social media and from instinct, and nearly every Bride I have spoken to since has done exactly the same.

Do we really need another podcast?

I have had this idea for a couple of years and that question is the reason I sat on it for so long.

The podcast landscape has got better and better in that time, which is both the reason to do it and the reason to hesitate. But the answer kept coming back the same. Yes, I think we do, and also 2026 was the year I said I would stop second guessing myself.

There are brilliant shows where suppliers and partners talk to each other about how the work gets done, and that is a really interesting avenue. It is not the one I want to take. I want to talk to the Bride and to the couples getting married, about how it actually feels while they are planning.

Talking to the Bride

So much Wedding content is about the Wedding day itself. I want to talk to the people planning it.

The overwhelm, which very few people say out loud. The practical things too, like how a destination Wedding really works, what is worth spending on and what you can happily let go of. The questions Brides ask privately all the time and rarely ask in public.

I want to talk to Wedding experts and planners, the best people in this business, the ones who have been at hundreds of Weddings and know which decisions genuinely matter on the day. Building our Wedding Directory this year has been one of my favourite parts of running G&O because it has put me in a room with those people constantly, they are professionals and truely incredible at what they do.

I also want to talk to real Brides. Women who are 6, 12, 18 months out or out the other side and will tell you honestly what they would do again and what they would skip. That includes the Brides who have built a following on TikTok, who have been sharing all of this in public and have far more to say.

Brides trust their peers now more than they trust anything polished, and that is exactly what I want this to sound like. Please let me know who you would like to hear from too!

Building it has been the challenging part

I have been documenting the whole build and I want to be honest about it. It has been hard.

Podcasting has historically been an audio platform and it is not only that any more. Discoverability sits on social, so the show has to work as something you watch as well as something you listen to. Making it look different from everything else out there has taken far more time and far more decisions than I expected.

That is why I have gone down the more expensive route and built our own set, with the best equipment I could get, a producer and a videographer. It costs a lot more. It also means the whole thing can be beautiful, helpful, educational and insightful, which is what I want from it. Everything we do at G&O is beautiful and this had to be too.

I am really building a new brand within our brand world, and that effort does not stop at launch. A podcast is a week on week commitment and I intend to keep turning up for it.

You have to launch to somebody

The most useful thing 7 years in business has taught me is that there is no point launching something if you are not launching it to anyone.

You have to launch to a community. That is the part we have built well at G&O over the years, and it is why this feels right now rather than 2 years ago.

When I started writing about the business, I said my next goal was to build a new media arm of G&O, where Brides could find suppliers, read genuinely useful editorial and learn how to plan a Wedding that feels like their own. The Directory was the first piece of that. The podcast is the next one.
